Purpose: Security features can be enabled and disabled while hosting a meeting in Zoom using the “Security” icon option in the Zoom room’s tool bar. Some security features include locking the meeting, using Waiting Rooms, enabling participant privileges, removing participants, or reporting users. It is recommended that hosts secure their Zoom meetings to avoid unwelcome participants and prevent in-meeting issues. Before starting a Zoom meeting, hosts may also enable or disable various features through their ASU Zoom accounts at asu.zoom.us.

Purpose: Zoom meetings can be scheduled through the Zoom desktop application which will sync to the host’s Zoom account online. Meetings scheduled may be set as a recurrence, use a newly created meeting ID or the instructor’s personal meeting ID (PMI), require registration, and other basic features. Scheduled meetings will also sync with the host’s ASU Zoom account at asu.zoom.us. The site may need to be accessed to add other features to a meeting such as polling, breakout rooms, and requiring registration.

Purpose: Hosts may enable the “File transfer” feature in their Zoom account to allow participants to send files to one another during a Zoom meeting. Users may choose to send a file to everyone in the meeting or only a specific participant.

Purpose: Instructors may choose to use the Zoom conferencing tool through a Canvas course where they may schedule meetings at specific dates for students to access. Meetings scheduled may be set as a recurrence, use a newly created meeting ID or the instructor’s personal meeting ID (PMI), require registration, and other basic features. Scheduled meetings will also sync with the host’s ASU Zoom account at asu.zoom.us. The site may need to be accessed to add other features to a meeting such as polling, breakout rooms, and requiring registration.

Through the Zoom website, hosts may also access additional features to a meeting such as creating polling, pre-assigning breakout rooms, and editing registration requirements.
